Submission of abstracts for CMSC 2024 extended until July 30

The deadline for submission of research abstracts for the Communication and Media Studies Conference (CMSC) 2024 is extended until July 30, 2024. The first batch of accepted entries will be released on July 15, 2024.

“CMSC 2024 provides an important platform for academics, practitioners, and students to talk about the state and trajectory of communication education and media practice. At the heart of this conversation is the pivotal interplay of values in, of, and with communication education and media practice,” said Ernest Collo, the conference chair of CMSC 2024.

Abstracts should center on this year’s theme, “Humanizing Communication Ecology: Locating Values in Communication Education and Media Practice.” Topics may revolve around communication education and participation; prospects and possibilities in communication education; interdisciplinarity in community education; communication and media in the post-truth world; ethical communication; values and technologies; values and Philippines media; science and communication education; community media and communication education; values in social advocacy and public relations; SDGs and communication education; values and development communication; values in/of communication; communicating values; and reflexivity and communication education.

CMSC aims to serve as an avenue for educators and researchers to connect and share their knowledge on media and communication studies.

CMSC, together with the PACE of the Future Student Camp, will be happening on October 18-19, 2024 at St. Paul University Quezon City.
