PACE partners with ABS-CBN anew for teachers’ training after 11 years

After its first training event partnership in 2013, the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE) conducted another training for communication teachers and media practitioners with ABS-CBN on July 25 and 26, 2024.

Dubbed as Pinoy Media Congress: Training the Teachers (T3), the two-day event featured discussions on the latest trends in media and communication with seasoned professionals presenting ABS-CBN’s experiences in the field. It touched on media in the digital age; social media management and audience research; effective and impactful brand marketing; news, film, and entertainment production; and creative communications.

T3 serves as this year’s edition of PACE and ABS-CBN’s long-running collaborative project, Pinoy Media Congress (PMC), which brings together the content company’s experts in media production and the communication teachers and students all over the country.

It also provided the 100 attending communication educators and practitioners with opportunities to share their communication education practices in their respective academic institutions.

PACE President Mark Lester del Mundo Chico expressed his appreciation to ABS-CBN and PACE members for their support and participation in the training.

“We are happy that after 11 years, we are doing another edition of our teacher’s training program with our strongest partner, ABS-CBN, the country’s leading content producer,” Chico expressed.

“Through T3, we aim to update our PACE member teachers’ knowledge and tools in media and communication. The landscape is ever-changing and we have to be ahead to make sure that we are teaching our students what they need to overcome the challenges of the times and shape the future of our field and the industry,” he continued.

During the closing program, ABS-CBN executives, Chairman Mark Lopez, Chief Operating Officer Cory Vidanes, and Corporate Communications Head Kane Choa, awarded PACE with a certificate of appreciation for upholding years of partnership toward advancing communication education in the country.

PACE also recognized ABS-CBN through a plaque of appreciation for its commitment and generosity in helping strengthen the capability of our communication educators.

Next year, the partnership hopes to mount a bigger PMC for PACE’s 50th anniversary celebration.
