PACE, UPLB seal partnership for #PACE50 celebration

The Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) have officially sealed their partnership for the celebration of PACE’s 50th founding anniversary with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on August 4, 2025.
UPLB will host three flagship events—the Communication and Media Studies Conference (CMSC), PACE of the Future Student Camp (PFSC), and PACE 50th Anniversary Gala Night and Homecoming—set to take place on October 23–25, 2025, at the UPLB campus.
Representing UPLB during the signing ceremony was Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr., while President Mark Lester del Mundo Chico signed on behalf of PACE. Present online were some members of the PACE Board of Trustees: Vice President for Luzon Reginald Gonzales, Vice President for Visayas Ulderico Alviola, Secretary Anansa Dijan, Assistant Treasurer Marynelle Laureta-Rosales, and Compliance Office Nornelyn Cachuela. Former PACE President and Ex-officio Rowena Capulong Reyes also joined the event.

In his message, President Chico expressed deep gratitude to UPLB for its strong support.
“We thank Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. and the whole UPLB community for the overwhelming support to PACE as we come home to UPLB for our 50th anniversary festivities,” he expressed.
“There is no better place to celebrate our golden year than in the Los Baños campus of the national university, where four out of 13 PACE presidents came from, including myself, Dr. Marco M. Polo, Dr. Crispin C. Maslog, and Dr. Nora C. Quebral,” he shared.
Chancellor Camacho, for his part, expressed his commitment to advance communication. According to him, the partnership and collaboration of great minds in both UPLB and PACE will nurture scholarship, research, public service, and extension in the field of communication for the future of students, scholars, and advocates of communication education.
Carrying the theme “#PACE50: Empowering Voices in Emergent and Divergent Spaces,” PACE’s golden year festivities aim to showcase the organization’s legacy as the country’s premier, biggest, and most dynamic professional group of media and communication educators and practitioners in the country.
