MTRCB partners with PACE for responsible viewing

In support of a media and information literate society and in an effort to raise public awareness about responsible viewing, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has entered into a partnership with the Philippine Association of Communication Educators Foundation Incorporated (PACE).

The MOA covers a strategic collaboration between PACE and MTRCB in the areas of media monitoring and media and information literacy. PACE members around the country will help the MTRCB in the observance of the TV and movie classification system as well as organize public forums on the various developmental advocacies common to the two organizations. The MOA was signed by PACE President Prof. Marco Polo and MTRCB Chairman Atty. Eugenio ‘Toto’ Villareal.

The MOA signing coincided with a forum hosted by De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) entitled “Rated MTRCB: Para sa Matalinong Panonood ng Pamilya ni Juan at Juana”.
The event was held on Aug. 18, 2014 at the DLSU-D Alumni Auditorium, Severino De Las Alas Hall. The forum enlightened the attendees about the MTRCB Classification system as well educated them about the current TV and Film landscape in the country. MTRCB Chairperson Atty. Villareal was the main speaker.
